Mother’s Day: 10 Easy Ways To Celebrate the Women In Your Life // Love, Emily Boudoir
May 4, 2022
If you didn’t know, its MAY! Anyone else feel like we skipped over the first four months of 2022? Here’s your friendly reminder that Mother’s Day is just around the corner on Sunday, May 8th and if you haven’t yet made plans to celebrate the incredible women in your life, now’s your time to do so. Here are 10 easy ways to make the day special:
- The obvious: surprise her with flowers
I know you’re thinking “duh”, but hear me out for a minute. Skip the last-minute trip to the gas station for a tacky bouquet of flowers and spend the extra time and money ordering an arrangement from one of our many amazing local florists. When women say we love flowers, THIS is what we’re talking about — we want the Instagram-worthy floral. And as an added bonus, you’ll be supporting a local small business.
- For the one who lives far away: arrange a food or coffee delivery
Coffee in bed from miles away?! Hopon a food delivery app and order her favorite meal or coffee to be delivered to her doorstep. This is such a simple way to make her feel loved and cared for.
- For the dog mama: offer to take her dog for a walk
This budget friendly idea is a win-win for all involved. You get your steps in and some puppy cuddles, the dog gets some exercise, and mama gets some rest. She’ll be especially grateful for this gift if she has a high energy dog.
- Mail a card or handwritten note
There is something about getting an actual surprise in the mail. Mix up her typical bills and junk mail by sending her a thoughtful letterl. It’ll be a sweet surprise – include a gift card or photo memory of the two of you for an even bigger smile.
- Bring her shopping
Take her to her favorite store or surprise her with a new one you think she’ll enjoy and let her pick out something she loves. You’ll get to spend some quality time together and she’ll leave with a gift that she actually wants.
- Make a playlist that reminds you of her
Curate a Spotify playlist just for her with songs that are special to the two of you. Cue the tears. (I highly suggest including the classic, “Pretty Woman” – duh.)
- For the one with a sweet tooth: visit her favorite bakery and deliver dessert
Surprising me with sweets miiiiiight be my love language. I feel like you can’t go wrong.
- Call her just to say I love you
Don’t ask questions, don’t ask her of anything, simply remind her how much you care about her.
- For the one who’s always busy: help her cross three things off her to-do list
Ask her what tasks she’s been meaning to accomplish and choose three you can do for her.
- For the one who has to work on Mother’s Day: deliver a large coffee, a treat, and a hug
My toxic trait is that I think I always need a $6 specialty coffee to make it through a busy day — having a good drink and a favorite snack will help bring mama some joy despite having to work on such a special day.
